Agreeing helps
Replies like “seconding this” add a smaller nudge, and upvotes add a little more.
Long lists count less
A movie buried in a list of twelve gets a bit less weight than one recommended on its own.
The OP doesn’t count
The person asking isn’t a vote, and “skip that one” counts against.
